According to Seun Kuti, his career has brought him significant success, including multiple international awards. However, he noted that his accomplishments have not necessarily translated into having a widely popular mainstream hit comparable to songs that dominate the Nigerian music scene.

“I’m a commercially successful artiste and I’ve won multiple international awards, but I don’t have a mainstream hit song. I also have a collaboration with Janelle Monáe.”
