Residents of several rural communities in Kano State have commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for responding to their requests for improved water supply.In separate interviews, community members said the state government’s intervention followed appeals over water shortages in their areas.
One resident, Malam Umar Abdullahi, described Governor Yusuf as “a leader who listens to the people,” alleging that the government responded to their complaints within a week by improving access to water in the affected communities.
According to him, the intervention has eased the challenges previously faced by residents in accessing water for domestic and other daily needs. Other residents who spoke with the reporter also expressed satisfaction with the improved water supply, saying the intervention has had a positive impact on their communities.
The Kano State Government had not issued an official statement on the residents’ claims at the time of filing this report.
