Nollywood actress and entrepreneur Olaide Oyedeji has shared a cautionary message with people considering cosmetic procedures in the hope of improving their lives or achieving greater success.
The actress urged people not to feel pressured into altering their bodies simply because they believe their physical appearance will determine how far they can go in life.
According to Oyedeji, while looking good is important, making the decision to undergo surgery solely because of the desire to succeed may not always be the best approach.
“Do not fix your body just because you think it’s going to better your life. It’s good to look good, but you can’t base your thinking on ‘let me go under the knife because I want to make it.’ It’s better to learn from other people’s experience or you use yourself as an example,” she said.
Her comments highlight the need for people to carefully consider the reasons behind major decisions concerning their bodies rather than making choices based solely on societal expectations or the pursuit of success.
Oyedeji also encouraged individuals to learn from both their own experiences and those of others before making decisions that could have lasting consequences.
The actress’s remarks come amid growing conversations surrounding cosmetic surgery, body image and the pressure many people face to meet certain beauty standards.
