NIGCOMSAT MD Receives Prestigious DTN@100 Enterprise Award For Transformational Leadership

Mrs. Jane Egerton-Idehen, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT Ltd), has been conferred with the DTN@100 Enterprise Award by the Daily Times Nigeria @100 Celebration Organising Committee for her transformational leadership.

A statement on Monday issued by Stephen Kwande, Acting Head, Corporate Affairs Division, NIGCOMSAT, said the prestigious recognition follows an extensive nomination and public voting process in which Mrs. Egerton-Idehen received the highest number of votes in her category.

Kwande said Egerton-Idehen selection was subsequently confirmed by the Times Heroes Award Council and key stakeholders, acknowledging her exceptional leadership, public service, and contributions to national development.

According to the statement, “Since assuming office, Mrs. Egerton-Idehen has brought remarkable transformation to NIGCOMSAT Ltd.

“Through her visionary leadership, the company has experienced significant technical upgrade, with modernisation of satellite infrastructure and services to meet global standards.

“She has championed diverse training programmes for staff, equipping them with advanced skills and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

“Under her guidance, NIGCOMSAT has also recorded notable improvements in internally generated revenue, driven by innovative strategies and expanded service offerings.

“These achievements, alongside her commitment to organisational development, have positioned NIGCOMSAT as a forward-looking institution dedicated to excellence, innovation, and accountability.

“As part of the honour, Mrs. Egerton-Idehen will be featured in the Nigerian Grand Book, a 700-page commemorative volume documenting Nigeria’s progress and achievements over the past century.

“The publication, developed over 15 years and drawing upon the Daily Times’ 100-year archive, will serve as a lasting record of outstanding personalities and institutions shaping Nigeria’s development.

“The foreword to the Nigerian Grand Book was written by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, underscoring the national significance of the project.

“The public conferment of the DTN@100 Times Heroes Awards will take place on Thursday, 3 September 2026, at the ThisDay Dome, Abuja, FCT, Nigeria.”

Responding on the recognition, Mrs. Egerton-Idehen expressed gratitude to the organisers and reaffirmed NIGCOMSAT’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda.

“This award is a testament to the collective efforts of the NIGCOMSAT team in driving innovation and national development.

“We remain dedicated to building a future where Nigeria leads in satellite communications and space technology,” she stated.
