Former United States President Barack Obama is set to return to the world of books with a new six-episode Audible series exploring some of the works that have shaped literature and public thought.
Titled “A Great Book,” the series will see Obama host conversations and reflections on books by acclaimed writers including Nobel laureate Toni Morrison, celebrated American author and social critic James Baldwin, and British spy novelist John le Carré.
The project is expected to showcase another side of Obama, who has long been known for his love of literature and his habit of sharing reading recommendations with the public.
Across the six episodes, Obama will delve into selected works, examining the ideas, characters and themes that have made the books enduring pieces of literature.

Morrison, whose works include Beloved, Song of Solomon and The Bluest Eye, is widely regarded as one of the most influential American writers of the 20th and 21st centuries. Le Carré, meanwhile, was celebrated for his sophisticated espionage novels, including The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, which transformed the traditional image of the spy thriller by focusing as much on moral ambiguity and human complexity as on international intrigue.
