The window for voters in Osun State to print downloadable copies of replacement Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) closes at midnight today, 9 August, as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) prepares its final figures ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
The copies are for voters who applied to replace lost, damaged or defaced PVCs. INEC said the deadline would allow it to compile the number of downloaded cards before producing final statistics for the election.
The commission gave the notice on Saturday, 8 August, in a release signed by Mohammed Kudu Haruna, National Commissioner and Chairman of its Information and Voter Education Committee.
Replacement cards available in two LGAs
INEC said replacement downloadable PVCs had been made available to voters in Odo-Otin and Ife Central local government areas.
The cards are for voters whose PVCs were taken when hoodlums invaded two collection centres. INEC said the stolen cards cannot be used to vote.

The commission had earlier started PVC collection at Registration Area level in Osun State from 22 July to 28 July.
It later extended that exercise to 31 July after complaints about large crowds and difficulties faced by voters at collection centres.
Collection then continued at local government level from 1 August to 7 August.
The different collection periods were designed to give voters more time to get their cards before the governorship election scheduled for 15 August.
With the downloadable replacement window closing today, INEC will now compile the available figures for cards downloaded by voters.
The final figures will form part of the commission’s statistics ahead of the election.
Parties get more time for candidate lists
INEC has also given political parties three extra days to submit their lists of candidates for the February 2027 Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections.
The original deadline for uploading the names on INEC’s dedicated portal was Saturday, 8 August. The new deadline is Tuesday, 11 August.
INEC said political parties had appealed for more time to complete the submission process.
The extension applies to the February 2027 General Election and is separate from the PVC deadline for the 15 August Osun governorship election.
The two deadlines therefore affect different election activities. The PVC deadline concerns voters who need replacement cards, while the extended candidate deadline concerns political parties preparing their lists for the 2027 elections.
INEC said it was ready to conduct a free, fair, credible and inclusive governorship election in Osun State on 15 August.
The commission’s notice came six days before the governorship poll, after the PVC collection exercise had ended at local government level on 7 August.
So, for voters who applied for replacement of lost, damaged or defaced PVCs, today is the final day to print their downloadable copies . INEC said the window will close at midnight.
