The Ogun State Police Command on Tuesday honoured a member of the Ogun State Hunters Association who died during a recent joint operation as Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni received the association on a courtesy visit at the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
The meeting also reaffirmed continued cooperation between the police and local hunters, with both sides stressing intelligence sharing and joint security efforts after the hunters’ contribution to Operation Kosaye.

The visit followed the continued implementation of Operation Kosaye, a security operation in Ogun State in which members of the Hunters Association have worked with the police.
The meeting provided another opportunity for both sides to review that partnership and restate their commitment to protecting lives and property through local intelligence and joint operations.
Tribute honours sacrifice during joint operation
The delegation from the Ogun State Hunters Association was led by its State President, Chief Muftau Alabi Oseni. Other members included the State Chairman, Chief Tajudeen Adele, Trustee Chief Bakare Ajayi Fatai and other officials of the association.
Before addressing members of the delegation, CP Ojajuni led those present in observing a minute of silence in honour of a member of the Hunters Association who lost his life during a recent joint operational exercise.
The tribute formed an important part of the meeting, recognising the sacrifice made during security operations involving both the police and local hunters.
Following the tribute, the police commissioner welcomed the delegation and thanked the association for the visit. He also acknowledged the role members of the association have continued to play during Operation Kosaye.
Ojajuni said the hunters have made valuable contributions to security work in the state. He noted that their participation during Operation Kosaye has strengthened security efforts, especially through information supplied from local areas.
He also thanked the leadership and members of the association for their commitment to working with the police.
Police, hunters renew joint security commitment
Earlier, State Chairman of the association, Chief Tajudeen Adele, thanked the commissioner and the police management team for receiving the delegation.
He praised the police command over its activities since Ojajuni assumed office and commended the implementation of Operation Kosaye.
Adele also thanked the command for involving members of the Hunters Association in operational activities.
He pledged that the association would continue to support the police in every way possible to help protect lives and property in Ogun State.
Responding, the police commissioner stressed the importance of maintaining cooperation between both organisations.
He identified grassroots intelligence gathering and timely information sharing as areas where the Hunters Association has continued to make useful contributions.
Ojajuni encouraged members of the association to sustain those efforts, noting that local information remains valuable in security operations.
The commissioner also assured the association that the command would continue to maintain an open relationship with its leadership.
He reaffirmed his open door policy and assured members that they would continue to have access to the command whenever the need arises.
