Sowore Mocks Davido As Adeleke Declares Support For Tinubu

  • Omoyele Sowore criticizes Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and his family regarding their political stance.
  • The criticism is focused on Adeleke’s support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 presidential bid.
  • Sowore’s comments were made in a post on X, responding to reports about singer Davido’s discontent with the governor’s decision.

Nigerian activist and publisher Omoyele Sowore has taken another swipe at Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and members of his family over their political positions, particularly regarding President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 presidential bid.

Sowore made the comments in a post shared on X while reacting to reports that Afrobeats singer Davido, who is related to Governor Adeleke, was unhappy with the governor’s reported decision to support Tinubu for a second term.

The activist revisited his previous criticism of Adeleke, recalling that he had earlier questioned the governor’s political judgement. According to Sowore, Davido had reacted strongly to those comments at the time.

Against the backdrop of the latest reports, Sowore suggested that the alleged disagreement between Davido and Adeleke over Tinubu’s endorsement appeared to support the concerns he had previously raised about the family’s political decisions.

However, he also expressed doubts about whether Nigerians should take Davido’s current position at face value. Sowore referenced an earlier statement reportedly made by the singer in which he indicated that he would not support Tinubu for another term, before the post was later deleted.

In his words:

“I stated categorically that Governor Ademola Adeleke @AAdeleke_01 empty upstairs. Of course, his loud and lousy cousin, @Davido, couldn’t take it and went on a rant.

“But I wasn’t speaking merely because I oppose political idiocy; perhaps I was being clairvoyant. I’m now reading that @Davido ‘allegedly’ disagrees with his uncle’s endorsement of Tinubu @officialabat for a ruinous second term as Nigeria’s president.

“But you can you trust @Davido on this. This is the same @Davido who deleted his tweet saying he would not support Tinubu for a disastrous second term.

“At the end of the day, Nigerians should watch what they do, not merely what they say.”

Sowore’s remarks have added another layer to the ongoing discussion surrounding the political positions of the Adeleke family and the reported differences over support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.

His comments also highlight the growing scrutiny of public figures whose political statements and actions have attracted attention as the next presidential election draws closer.
