They Damaged My Car Thinking I Was Ayra Starr -The sister of Afrobeats star Ayra Starr has alleged that her car was damaged by suspected area boys in Lagos after they reportedly mistook her for the singer.
Taking to Instagram, she narrated the incident, saying the situation became worse because the men believed she was Ayra Starr. She described the experience as sad and called for urgent action to address the growing menace.
According to her, “They damaged my car yesterday and honestly it was so sad!!! And the fact that they kept shouting Ayra Starr cause they thought I was her 😢😭 that made it even worse.”
She also shared a message condemning the activities of area boys, writing: “THIS HAS TO STOP. Imagine, this is what happens now in Lagos once you drive a nice car. These Agberos/Area Boys won’t let you go except you give them money. If you don’t give them, them might stone your car and break something. So basically, it’s by force.
“This is not good. How can this be controlled cause it’s getting out of hand?”
Her post has since sparked reactions on social media, with many Nigerians expressing concern over the increasing reports of alleged harassment and extortion by street touts in parts of Lagos.
