“I Want to See How 65 Million Christians Will Be Imprisoned for Preaching in Buses”- PFN President Speaks on Proposed Bus Preaching Ban

• PFN President Bishop Francis Wale Oke has rejected reports of a proposed ban on preaching in commercial buses, insisting that Christians will continue evangelising in obedience to God’s command.
• He also criticised what he described as the government’s priorities, questioning why attention was allegedly being directed at gospel preaching instead of tackling killers, kidnappers, bandits, rapists and other violent criminals.

President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Francis Wale Oke, has condemned reports of a proposed ban on preaching in commercial buses, declaring that Christians would continue evangelising in buses, taxis and other public places regardless of any law to the contrary.

Speaking in a viral video, the PFN President said Christians would obey God rather than man, insisting that preaching the gospel is a divine command that cannot be suspended by legislation.

“I want to see how 65 million Christians will be imprisoned for preaching in buses,” Oke said, adding that if arrests were carried out, the government should convert stadiums into prisons because believers would not stop spreading the gospel.

The cleric urged Christians not to be intimidated, encouraging them to continue preaching in commercial buses, taxis and other public places. He also criticised what he described as the government’s priorities, questioning why attention was allegedly being directed at gospel preaching instead of tackling killers, kidnappers, bandits, rapists and other violent criminals.

Oke further warned those behind the proposed legislation to repent, saying they would ultimately give account to God. He maintained that Christians are unstoppable and vowed that, if necessary, millions of believers would stage a peaceful protest against any attempt to enforce such a law.

His remarks followed reports suggesting that the National Assembly was considering legislation to prohibit preaching in commercial vehicles.
