Afrobeats star Davido has responded to Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo after the governor mocked his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, over his love for dancing during an APC campaign event.

Hours after Okpebholo’s remarks, Davido appeared to hit back by sharing a photo showing what was presented as the Edo governor’s old West African Examinations Council (WAEC) result.

The singer shared the image on his social media page alongside a photo of Okpebholo. The document appeared to show several low grades, including D7 and E8 in some subjects.

However, the authenticity of the certificate shared online has not been independently established, so it should be regarded as an alleged WAEC result.

The exchange comes amid the growing political tension surrounding the August 15 Osun governorship election, with Davido openly supporting Adeleke’s re-election bid.

Okpebholo had earlier taken a swipe at Adeleke during an APC campaign rally, questioning whether Osun voters were tired of having a “dancing governor” and criticising the governor’s public dancing.

Davido’s post quickly triggered reactions online, with some Nigerians asking him to also release Adeleke’s academic record, while others mocked Okpebholo over the alleged grades.
