TikTok User Says Social Media Nearly Convinced Her That ‘All Men Are Scum’

A TikTok user has opened up about how exposure to social media at a young age almost shaped her entire perception of men.

In a video shared online, the woman explained that she grew up in a loving home and enjoyed a healthy relationship with her father. However, she said her perspective began to change after joining social media, where she was constantly exposed to posts claiming that “men are scum.”

According to her, she gradually embraced those beliefs despite having no personal experiences to support them, often repeating negative stories she had read online as though they reflected her own reality.

Looking back, she admitted that she had unknowingly allowed other people’s experiences to influence her thinking and form opinions that were not based on her own life.

She said it took self-awareness and guidance for her to recognize the impact social media had on her mindset and to begin separating other people’s experiences from her own.

The TikTok user encouraged young people to show empathy toward others and learn from their experiences without automatically adopting their beliefs or assuming everyone’s situation is the same.

She concluded by reminding viewers that there are both good and bad people in society, regardless of gender.
