We Will Resist Any Form Of Intimidation – Imo APP

As political campaigns for presidential and national assembly elections begins, the Imo State chapter of the Action Peoples Party (APP) has warned that they will not tolerate any form of intimidation and on the electorates.
APP senatorial candidate for Imo East, Chief Chima Amadi gave the warning during the flag off of his political campaigns held on Wednesday, when he attended the annual Women August meeting of Okwu Autonomous Community in Ogbaku, in the Owerri West local government area of Imo state.
Amadi said the party will not be frightened out of all the political contests in the state saying they were ready to defend the votes as the era of writing results in hotel rooms was over.
He maintained that Imo East had buried too many dreams under bad leadership and was not ready to bury their courage.
Amadi said “beyond the campaign, let me sound this warning loud and clear: we are ready to defend our votes to the last drop of our blood. Every single ballot cast by the people of Imo East will count: nothing more, nothing less. The era of writing results in hotel rooms is over. Our agents will be trained, vigilant, and present at every polling unit and every collation centre.
“We will watch, we will record, and we will follow every vote from the ballot box to the final declaration. Only the votes cast will count and anyone who dreams of subverting the will of Ndi Imo East should bury that dream, because we will resist it lawfully, loudly, and to the very end”, Amadi warned.
He however said he will also stand election for the governorship position, saying APP was out to claim the state but added that it will be devoid of insults or bitterness, saying other political parties should challenge APP on ideas.
Chairperson of the Okwu Women Autonomous Community, Lady Margaret Ogbo said the women want improved health facilities, good governance, and jobs for their children.
Ogbo called for the completion of the community’s ICT centre to equip the people especially the youths with digital skills to compete with their counterparts from other places.
