Ossai Ovie Success has reacted to the ongoing family dispute involving Nigerian music stars Peter and Paul Okoye, popularly known as PSquare, expressing disappointment over Peter’s alleged response to the controversy.
The Delta State Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media shared his thoughts in a social media post, questioning Peter’s decision to remain silent over an alleged incident involving his young son.
According to Ossai, Peter should have taken a stronger stance if his elder brother allegedly referred to his child as a “bastard.”
He argued that parents are expected to protect their children, especially when such an alleged insult comes from a close family member.
“I am disappointed in Peter, I will tell you guys why. Your elder brother called your son a bastard and you didn’t ensure one of his teeth’s got broken.
That is disappointing and Peter didn’t do well by keeping mute.”
Ossai went on to draw from what he described as his own reaction if a relative were to insult his child in a similar manner.
“There is no way in heaven and on earth that my brother will take my 5-month-old son’s photo, and call him a bastard in my bedroom, in front of my wife and the whole family, and he’d go scout-free. It cannot even happen.”
He maintained that such an incident would result in a major confrontation and could lead to a permanent breakdown in the relationship between the siblings.
“Hell will break loose, the earth will quake underneath our feet, the house will go down, and at least one of us will be hospitalized that day!
After that, I will completely sever ties with him. And it will be forever. It would not matter what is at stake. That’s the right thing to do! I am disappointed.”
Ossai’s remarks come as the long-running disagreement involving Peter, Paul and their elder brother, Jude Okoye, continues to attract widespread attention.
Peter and Paul rose to prominence as PSquare, becoming one of Nigeria’s most successful music duos before their relationship eventually broke down and they went their separate ways professionally.
Their strained relationship has remained a subject of public discussion, with the brothers previously making different claims and statements about their disagreements.
Jude, who was involved in managing PSquare during the height of their career, has also featured prominently in the brothers’ disputes.
As the family conflict continues to unfold publicly, reactions from celebrities, activists and other public figures have continued to pour in, with Ossai now adding his voice to the conversation.
