Nigerian comedian KlintonCod has sparked debate online after advising people not to wait for the “right woman” before having children, arguing that a woman does not necessarily have to be the perfect romantic partner to make a great mother.

Klinton shared his thoughts in a post on X, where he reflected on his own experience and said he believes having children at a young age turned out to be one of the best decisions he made.

He wrote, “If you are waiting for the right woman in 2026 before having kids assuming you want kids, you may be childless i assure you. The best thing i did with my life was making babies when i was naive at young age. It became the best decision of my entire life with what i see today.”

The comedian later clarified his position after his initial post drew attention, stressing that he was not encouraging people to have children with just anyone.

He explained that some women may not be ideal romantic partners or soulmates but could still become excellent mothers, and argued that such women could be considered when making decisions about having children.

Klinton wrote, “Let me clarify something on this post, i am not saying make babies with a crackhead, what i mean is, there are women that clearly may not be the right fit to be your lover or soulmate but you know deep down they will be great mothers to kids, those are the ones you can pair up with for procreation assuming they are down for it.”

His comments have generated mixed reactions online, with some people questioning the idea of separating romantic compatibility from parenthood, while others debated whether having children should be approached independently of finding a life partner.

Some users also criticised the comedian for what they considered a controversial approach to family planning, while others appeared to agree that a person can be a good parent without necessarily being a suitable romantic partner.
