2027: APM Unveils Osun Central Candidate, Says Makinde Will Be President

The Allied Peoples Movement on Thursday, unveiled Mr Ibraheem Adekunle has its senatorial candidate for Osun Central Senatorial District, noting that the party is poised to win the forthcoming general election.
Speaking at the unveiling held at Freedom Park, Osogbo, the state capital, a national leader of the APM Babatunde Tijani, expressed confidence that Oyo State Governor and presidential candidate of the party, Engr. Seyi Makinde, will win the 2027 election and be sworn in as President of Nigeria on May 29, 2027.
Tijani who represented the APM presidential candidate at the event, noted that Makinde’s youthfulness and performance in Oyo State make him the ideal candidate for the presidency.
“Let me assure you that come May 29, 2027, Engr. Seyi Makinde will be sworn in as the President of Nigeria. To the youths here, the time is now. We have to take the mantle of leadership now, and I am happy with the turnout of the youths. Makinde is a young and vibrant man, and all our candidates in the APM in Osun State for the federal and state assemblies are also youths,” he said.
The APM chieftain also faulted the Federal Government’s infrastructure priorities, questioning the rationale behind the coastal road project while existing roads remain in deplorable condition.
“Why do we have to start constructing new roads when the available ones are death traps? What is the reason for the coastal road being constructed? All these will be reset once Makinde becomes the president,” Tijani stated.
He urged party members to return to their constituencies and commence grassroots mobilisation ahead of the general elections.
“After today’s unveiling, I want to appeal to everyone to go back to our various constituencies to start the real work. We need to mobilise and let our people know that the APM is the best party for them. Our people should bring out their Permanent Voter Cards, and those who are yet to collect theirs should go and collect them,” he added.
Earlier, the APM candidate for Osun Central, Adekunle, said elections are no longer about political parties but about the support of the electorate, expressing confidence in his chances of winning.
“Elections are no longer about political parties but about the support of the people and the structure put in place by the candidate. Definitely, I am going to win the Osun Central Senatorial seat. I am not bothered about any opposition. I have what it takes to win.
