2027: International Publication Spotlights Donald Duke’s Presidential Bid

Former Cross River State governor and presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Donald Duke, has attracted attention in an international publication ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The publication, Global Hukum Indonesia, described Duke as one of Nigeria’s promising presidential candidates over the past two decades.
Internet checks show that Hukum Indonesia describes itself as a national scientific journal and a double-blind, peer-reviewed, open-access publication published quarterly by Riviera Publishing.
Duke was among the first set of governors elected after Nigeria’s return to democratic rule in 1999. He was elected governor of Cross River State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He later contested the 2023 presidential election on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
The publication said Duke was attracting attention from political and economic observers outside Nigeria ahead of the 2027 election.
It claimed that media organisations in the United States, Europe and Asia, including those based in Washington, Brussels, China, Malaysia and Indonesia, were monitoring his political activities.
The publication also examined issues contained in Duke’s proposed agenda, including governance reforms, the economy, education and the application of artificial intelligence in public administration and other sectors.
On governance, the publication said Duke’s proposed programme included structural reforms aimed at improving transparency and tackling corruption in government institutions.
It further stated that the proposed reforms were intended to improve investor confidence, reduce poverty and strengthen public welfare.
