2027: SDP’s Adebayo Unveils ‘Farewell To Poverty, Insecurity’ Blueprint, Promises New Direction For Nigeria

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate, Adewole Adebayo, is set to publicly unveil his presidential blueprint, titled “Farewell to Poverty and Insecurity: Governance & Accelerated Development Blueprint of a New Nigeria 2027–2031,” as part of preparations for the 2027 presidential election.

The public presentation of the blueprint is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.

The event is being hosted by the National Chairman of the SDP, Prof. Sadiq Abubakar Gombe, with the party inviting Nigerians from across the country to attend the unveiling of what it described as a new direction for Nigeria.

The blueprint, according to the SDP, is anchored on addressing the worsening challenges of poverty and insecurity while providing a governance framework focused on accelerated national development between 2027 and 2031.

Adebayo, in his campaign promoting the presentation, lamented the continued hardship facing Nigerians decades after the country’s return to democratic rule.

“33 years later, the cries of our people remain and the burden has grown heavier,” the campaign message says.

“From every household to every street, Nigerians feel the crushing weight of poverty and insecurity. But hope must rise again.”

The campaign message further presents Adebayo as a candidate offering what the SDP describes as courageous leadership and a clear vision for the country.

“Progress must count. Courageous leadership and a clear vision. Adewole Adebayo is here,” the jingle states.

The SDP is urging Nigerians to attend the public presentation of the presidential manifesto, “Farewell to Poverty and Insecurity,” which will be presented by Adebayo at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.

The party said the event would provide an opportunity for Nigerians to witness the formal unveiling of Adebayo’s policy direction and proposed governance agenda ahead of the 2027 general election.

The blueprint is titled “Farewell to Poverty Insecurity and Governance & Accelerated Development Blueprint of a New Nigeria 2027–2031.”

Adebayo is expected to use the occasion to present his vision for tackling poverty and insecurity and accelerating development if elected President of Nigeria.

The SDP presidential campaign has also called on Nigerians to support the party’s ticket in the 2027 presidential election.

The campaign message specifically lists Prince (Dr.) Adewole Adebayo as its presidential candidate and Dr. Ousmane Mbugade as its vice-presidential candidate.

“In 2027, votes for President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prince Adewole Adebayo and Dr. Ousmane Mbugade for Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the campaign jingle states.

The public presentation comes amid growing political activities ahead of the 2027 elections, with political parties expected to roll out their policy platforms and campaign messages as they seek to win the support of Nigerian voters.

The SDP said the unveiling of the blueprint would mark an important step in presenting its alternative vision for Nigeria and setting out its proposed approach to governance, poverty reduction, security and accelerated development.
