“23 Cars Were Hidden In A Mechanic Workshop” – Benue Gov’s Aide Reveals Where Ortom’s Vehicles Were Found

  • The location of 23 vehicles linked to former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has sparked fresh controversy after the state governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo, claimed the vehicles were found hidden in a mechanic workshop.
  • Tersoo made the disclosure while responding to journalist Rufai Oseni, who questioned why the state government seized the vehicles.
  • Ortom, however, maintains that the vehicles were legitimately allocated to him and said a court ordered the government to return them and pay ₦5 million in damages.

The Benue State Government has revealed that 23 vehicles linked to former Governor Samuel Ortom were allegedly found hidden in a mechanic workshop after his tenure.

The claim was made by Tersoo, the Chief Press Secretary to the Benue State Governor, during an interview with journalist Rufai Oseni.

Oseni had questioned the seizure of the vehicles, asking, “How dare you people take 23 cars belonging to former Governor Samuel Ortom?”

Responding, Tersoo said, “What does former Governor Samuel Ortom need the 23 cars for? Even the cars were not in his house; they were hidden in a mechanic workshop somewhere.”

The revelation has generated reactions online, particularly over how and why the vehicles ended up at the mechanic workshop.

Ortom, however, has accused the Benue State Government of violating the rule of law and targeting political opponents.

He said, “We have a government in Benue State that does not believe in the rule of law. It engages in witch-hunts and runs down its opponents.”

The former governor added, “After I left office, vehicles legitimately allocated to me by the government were seized. I went to court, defeated them, and the court ordered them to pay ₦5 million in damages and return the 23 vehicles.”

The controversy has continued to generate debate among Nigerians, with many also questioning why a former governor was linked to 23 vehicles in the first place.
