Arrest Made Outside Lindsay Clancy Trial After Woman Violates the ‘Sanctity of the Judicial System’ by Taking Photos
Amid Lindsay Clancy’s trial, an unexpected arrest was made after an action appeared to threaten the fairness and integrity of the proceedings.
A Massachusetts woman identified as Dawn Light has now been taken into custody after she was seen outside Plymouth District Court taking photographs of the jurors in Clancy’s case.
Clancy is charged in connection with the deaths of her three children, and the closely watched trial has continued for weeks. With deliberations still ongoing and no verdict reached, Light’s actions have raised concerns about threats to the justice system.

On September 2, Light was arraigned on a charge of intimidation of a witness, juror, or individual providing information in a criminal case. She pleaded not guilty.
Police detained Light after being alerted to her presence in a restricted parking area behind the courthouse. When questioned, she insisted she wasn’t filming anyone and claimed she was waiting to catch a glimpse of Clancy.
However, when investigators searched her phone, they found videos in the device’s deleted folder showing several people leaving the courthouse. Investigators later identified the individuals as jurors.
Assistant District Attorney Nicole Piacentini stressed the seriousness of the situation, arguing that a process designed to protect impartiality had been compromised.
“The sanctity of the judicial system is at risk because of her actions,” Piacentini said, according to US Weekly. “It’s an extremely serious matter for the Commonwealth and the integrity of the proceedings.”
The attorney further pointed to Judge Williams Sullivan’s orders prohibiting the filming of jurors, arguing that Light was in “clear violation” of them.
Prosecutors requested that Light be held on $50,000 cash bail. However, the judge declined the request and instead released her on personal recognizance subject to several restrictions.
Judge Issued Final Instruction After Deliberations Reached Another Impasse
Light’s arrest came shortly after the panel reached a deadlock for the second time, prompting the judge to issue the Tuey-Rodriguez charge, according to The Blast.
The group first informed the court on August 27 that it could not decide after hours of deliberation. Then, on September 2, the members sent another note saying they still couldn’t reach a verdict.
Sullivan acknowledged their struggle and made one more effort to break a stalemate. The charge urges jurors to keep talking, reconsider each other’s views, and try to reach agreement, while reminding them not to abandon their true convictions to force a verdict.

4As deliberations continue, Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, praised the jury’s commitment to the proceedings. “They’ve been focused and dedicated throughout the whole trial,” he said, per The Blast.
Over five weeks, the group of twelve heard testimony from doctors, police officers, relatives, and friends, and reviewed hundreds of exhibits.
While Clancy admits she killed her three children, the matter hinges on whether she was legally responsible at the time. Her lawyers argued postpartum depression and psychosis clouded her judgment, while prosecutors insisted she knew exactly what she was doing and planned the act.
The fact finders must now determine whether Clancy should be held fully responsible, convicted on a lesser charge, or found not criminally responsible because of her mental condition.
Journalist Received Backlash For Courtroom Behavior

The Blast reported two weeks ago that Brittany Romano, a freelance journalist, came under fire online for what many believed was inappropriate conduct given the seriousness of the matter.
A livestream clip showed Romano smiling at the camera and even winking. Many viewers criticized Romano for appearing playful in a courtroom where the case involved the deaths of three children.
Neighbors Recall What Was Once Lindsay Clancy’s Happy Family
4As the case unfolds, Clancy’s former neighbors are left reflecting on the life they once saw from across the street, one that seemed happy and ordinary.
As The Blast reported, 81-year-old Ruth Hearson recalled her sweet friendship with the children. She remembered often surprising them with Christmas gifts and watching Lindsay play with them in the yard.
Hearson also shared a memory in which a deer leaped from her yard into the Clancys’ while Patrick and their daughter were outside. Speaking about the tragedy, Hearson called it heartbreaking, as moments of joy are now overshadowed by loss.
