Applicants no longer need to visit the Federal Ministry of Education in person to have academic certificates evaluated and authenticated, following the federal government’s full switch to an online process.
The update was announced on 8 September, 2026 by Boriowo Folasade, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Education.
The system now allows applicants in Nigeria and outside the country to complete the process online, with the ministry saying the change is intended to cut delays, improve transparency and make access to the service easier.

The Federal Ministry of Education said applicants can now handle the entire credential evaluation and authentication process through its dedicated online platform.
The change affects the way academic certificates are checked and authenticated by the ministry. Instead of making physical visits, applicants can submit their requests through the online system.
The ministry said the digital process is designed to reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks that can slow down applications. It is also intended to speed up processing and give applicants a more convenient way to access the service.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, said the system is part of the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda and aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
