“Give Me My Money”- Nigerian Lady Calls Out Union Bank Over Alleged $790 Deduction

  • A Nigerian lady reported unauthorized deduction of $790 from her Union Bank account.
  • She shared her experience in a viral video on social media.
  • The transaction in question took place on August 12, 2026, while she was in Egypt.

A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to seek help after alleging that $790 was deducted from her Union Bank account without her authorisation.

The woman made the allegation in a viral video, claiming that the disputed transaction occurred on August 12, 2026, while she was in Egypt.

According to her, she had never linked her bank card to any online platform that could have processed such a payment. She also insisted that she does not use the card for online shopping and had not given it to anyone to make purchases on her behalf.

Recounting what happened, the woman said she attempted to pay for food in Egypt using her card, but the transaction reportedly failed three times due to insufficient funds.

She subsequently contacted her account officer to confirm her balance and was allegedly informed that only $7 remained in the account.

The woman said she was shocked because she had approximately $790 in the account as of the previous day.

She further alleged that several of the deductions did not trigger notifications on her phone, making it difficult for her to immediately determine where or how the transactions had been carried out.

Following the alleged incident, she said she contacted Union Bank and sent several emails seeking clarification and the recovery of her funds.

She also claimed that she visited the bank on August 31, 2026, but was allegedly told that there was little the bank could do because the disputed payment was regarded as a transaction she had made.

Rejecting the explanation, the woman maintained that she did not authorise the transaction and demanded that the bank investigate the matter and return her money.

She alleged that the disputed transaction was connected to Google Ads, although the circumstances surrounding the alleged payment have not been independently established.

The lady’s appeal has since generated reactions online, with some social media users calling on the bank to investigate her complaint.
