Delta police track fleeing suspects after two raids

Police in Delta State are searching for suspected gang members who escaped arrest during an operation in Ughelli North, after officers seized a locally made gun and a cartridge.

The operation also led to the arrest of a 29-year-old man, Thankgod Ejakpomewhe, in Ujode Community on 16 October. Four other suspects were arrested in a separate raid in Ika South two days earlier, bringing the total number of arrests to five.

Other suspected gang members escaped, and police said they were working to arrest them.

Police commissioner warns criminals

Delta State Commissioner of Police Samuel E. Erale commended the officers involved in the operations. He said the command was committed to dismantling criminal networks and preventing the unlawful circulation of firearms.

Erale warned criminal elements to stop their activities or face action within the law. He also called on residents to provide credible and timely information to the police.
