Gombe 2027: Reps Aspirant Defects from ADC To APC, Backs Gwamna

A former House of Representatives aspirant in Gombe State, Alhaji Mohammed Danjuma, popularly known as Garkuwa Babba, has dumped the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Danjuma, who contested the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency ticket, announced his defection on Saturday during a meeting with Gombe State Governor and APC leader, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, at the Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.
He also handed over his political structure to the APC and pledged to mobilise his supporters for the party’s candidates, particularly its governorship candidate, Dr Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna.
“I am handing over my structure to the APC and I pledge my total commitment to work for the victory of Dr Jamilu Gwamna and all our candidates. We will begin immediate mass mobilisation across Gombe State,” he said.
Danjuma was received by Yahaya alongside Gwamna and an APC chieftain, Engr Aliyu Mohammed Combat.
Responding, Yahaya welcomed the former aspirant into the APC and said his defection would strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
The governor urged members of the party to remain united and accommodate different interests as preparations for the elections intensify.
