Nigerian comedian and content creator MC Mbakara has addressed the controversy surrounding his alleged connection to TMT Travels and Tours, following accusations that he promoted the travel agency to members of the public.
The comedian found himself at the centre of online criticism after social media users linked him to the agency amid allegations from individuals who claim to have been victims of a visa scam involving Ifeanyi Onukwubiri of TMT Travels and Tours.
Reacting to the allegations, MC Mbakara denied ever influencing anyone to patronise Onukwubiri or his travel agency.
According to him, the photos and video currently circulating online were taken in 2024 when fellow entertainer Apama accompanied him to meet Onukwubiri.
MC Mbakara stated that he has never personally convinced anyone to do business with the alleged scam company, stressing that the old content being circulated does not amount to an endorsement of the agency.
He said:
“I have never influenced anyone about him or his travel agency before. The pictures and video circulating online were from when Apama took me to see him in 2024.”
His clarification comes after he was heavily criticised on social media, with some users questioning whether his previous association with Onukwubiri amounted to an endorsement of the travel agency.
