“I Will Personally Lead A Demonstration Against Ato Forson If He Pays Any Money To Ex-Presidential Staffers” — Hopeson Adorye

Hopeson Adorye of the United Progressive Party has issued a stern warning to Finance Minister Dr. Ato Forson, vowing to personally lead a demonstration should the government proceed to settle any outstanding payments owed to former presidential staffers.

Hopeson Adorye’s objection centres on his view that the former staffers, who served under the previous administration, bear responsibility for what he describes as the mismanagement of the country’s finances during their time in office.

For him, honouring any financial claims from that group would amount to rewarding poor stewardship rather than holding it accountable.

Rather than clearing outstanding dues, Hopeson Adorye is pushing the government to redirect its energy toward tracing and recovering state funds he alleges were misappropriated under the former staffers’ watch.

In his view, prioritising recovery over payment would send a clearer message about accountability within public financial management.
