NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has spoken after his convoy was reportedly blocked while on his way to condole with victims of a recent bandit attack in Benue State.

According to his media aide, Esther, the convoy had just arrived from the airport and was heading into the city when they discovered that the road had allegedly been blocked to prevent Obi from entering.

Obi, who addressed the situation, explained that his visit was humanitarian and not related to campaign activities.

“I’m in Benue State today, not for campaign. I came to visit people who løst their loved ones during the att@ck, condole with them, and show solidarity,” he said.

In another statement, he reportedly said, “The entire road has been blocked.”

Reports circulating online claimed that alleged sponsored political thugs were behind the roadblock along the Airport-Boko Road and were insisting that Obi should not enter the state.

The development has since generated reactions online, with some questioning why the former Anambra governor would be prevented from paying a condolence visit.
