Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has opened up about her journey in the entertainment industry as she prepares to achieve a major milestone in her acting career.

After more than a decade in Nollywood, the actress is set to make her long-awaited cinema debut this December with two movies, The Secret Life of Baba Sege and The Figurines.

Reflecting on her journey, Nkechi recalled an encounter with a blogger who questioned the number of cinema movies she had featured in. According to the actress, the comment was not simply criticism but an attack allegedly orchestrated by one of her colleagues, although she chose not to disclose the person’s identity.

Nkechi, who has faced her share of controversies throughout her career, said she has endured numerous challenges in the industry. Despite the difficulties, she noted that she continues to experience God’s favour because she has remained determined and refused to give up.

As she prepares to take her career to the big screen, the actress expressed gratitude for how far she has come and the progress she continues to make in Nollywood.

“I just wrapped set like 20 minutes ago, and I have just been thinking. I am actually going to be in movies coming to cinemas, from one of the top filmmakers, Mo Abudu. How did all of this happen? I remember when Stella Dimokoko insulted me and said, “How many cinema movies have I done?” That was an attack from someone close to me through her, but that’s a story for another day.

I have been through a lot in this industry, and God still manage to see me through because she refused to give up.

I don’t want to tear up, and I don’t want to be emotional.

So many things can change as long as you don’t give up.

I don’t want to tear up because a lot has been going through my head.

Thank you to every single person who sat in the room and mentioned my name for that script. I got it and shot it, and I was paid heavily- I mean millions of naira”.
