“I’ve Never Seen A Country With A Higher Rate Of Dvmb Citizens Like Nigeria” – Charly Boy

  • Charly Boy has criticised the state of infrastructure and living conditions in Nigeria, pointing to poor roads, unreliable electricity and rising prices of goods.
  • His remarks have triggered mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians agreeing with his concerns while others challenged him over his political views.

Veteran Nigerian entertainer and activist Charly Boy has sparked reactions after criticising the state of living conditions and rising cost of living in Nigeria.

In a post on X, Charly Boy questioned why basic amenities such as good roads and steady electricity are treated as luxuries while Nigerians continue to experience sharp increases in the prices of goods.

He wrote:

“I’ve never seen a country with a higher rate of dvmb citizens like Nigeria. A country where good roads are treated as luxury, where people with steady electricity are classified as the rich. A country where the price of goods can jump from 10k to 100k overnight with no questions asked and you call that a country?”

His comments come amid continued public concerns over household purchasing power, electricity supply and infrastructure, even as Nigeria has recorded stronger economic growth in 2026.

The post generated mixed reactions, with some users agreeing with his assessment of the country while others criticised the statement and referenced his political positions.
