The Lagos State House of Assembly has issued a stark warning to people seeking jobs, contract opportunities and vendor positions to watch out for con artists demanding money in exchange for positions linked to the legislature.
In a disclaimer posted Thursday on its official social media, the Assembly made clear it does not request or accept payments, fees or any form of gratification for employment, appointments, contract awards, procurement opportunities or official benefits of any kind.
All recruitment, procurement and tendering processes follow established statutory procedures and are communicated only through the Assembly’s official channels.
Anyone claiming to offer such opportunities in exchange for payment does not represent the legislature.
The Assembly urged the public to be wary of individuals demanding money while posing as representatives of the legislature.
Anyone making such payments does so entirely at their own risk.
The Assembly bears no responsibility for losses or damage from these fraudulent transactions.
The House warned that people caught soliciting or collecting money in connection with alleged jobs, contracts or opportunities involving the legislature will be reported to law enforcement authorities and could face investigation and prosecution.
The Assembly advised the public to use only its authorised communication channels when seeking information about recruitment, procurement, tendering and official activities.
