Lionel Richie Discharged From Hospital Following St. Louis Health Scare
American singer and American Idol judge Lionel Richie has been discharged from the hospital and returned home to Los Angeles following a health scare after his recent concert in St. Louis, Missouri.
The 77-year-old musician checked himself into a St. Louis hospital over the weekend as a precaution after struggling toward the end of his performance at the Muny Amphitheatre. During his final song, “All Night Long,” Richie asked his team for a chair to complete the show.
He was admitted to the intensive care unit, where doctors conducted cardiac tests and investigated potential mild dehydration. Representatives have since confirmed that the singer has returned home and is doing well.
“When you’re feeling dizzy, sit your ass down,” Richie had previously told a crowd during an earlier health scare in June, when he cut a concert short in St. Paul, Minnesota, due to dizziness before returning to his tour.
