Meghan Markle Reportedly ‘Already Wondering’ If Her UK Return Was A ‘Mistake’ As She Faces Unforgiving British Public

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s relocation to Britain has reportedly left the Duchess of Sussex wondering whether they made the right decision for their family.

After six years in their Montecito, California home, the couple returned to the UK with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, late last month to start a new chapter closer to the royal family.

However, the move has not been particularly smooth, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are worried about how the royal organization and British public will receive them.

The return represents a significant transition for the couple who established a life in the United States after stepping back from royal duties in 2020.

Their decision to spend more time in Harry’s homeland has renewed attention to their relationship with the royal family and the British.

According to Star Magazine, a source claims that there is “uncertainty over how things are going to go with the royals and the British public.”

The As Ever Ceo is “understandably pretty anxious” about what awaits them and is “already wondering if this was a mistake.”

The Sussexes didn’t return as working members of the royal family and aren’t expected to live on royal property.

Reports suggest that they plan to set up their home in the Cotswolds, a celebrity hotspot and Montecito equivalent.

Archie and Lilibet are also expected to start school there while the couple continue their lives and explore interests outside the royal paradigm.

The Relocation Has Been Logistically Challenging For The Sussexes

Part of the challenge of moving their entire family to another continent is the fact that the Sussexes still have substantial commitments in the United States.

According to the Star source, Meghan and Harry have “So much still to manage back in Montecito,” with the “eight-hour time difference” between London and California creating additional complications.

“Work calls and conversations with people dealing with their house have to be squeezed into awkward windows,” the source explained.

They further described the situation as a “logistical headache” for the royal couple.

Harry and Meghan are reportedly maintaining their home in Montecito and are also keeping their property in Portugal.

The arrangement shows that the couple is effectively managing properties across several countries and two continents while also settling into life in Britain.

The couple purchased their Montecito mansion for $14.65 million, and, as reported by MarketWatch, the annual costs required to maintain the property are incredibly high.

Private Jet Travel Added To The Financial Stress For The Sussexes

“Financial pressure” has also been highlighted as part of the stress surrounding such a major transition.

Meghan and Harry reportedly decided to fly their entire family to the UK in a private jet because of their dogs, Pula and Mia.

“They spent a fortune to fly there by private jet because of the dogs,” the source claimed, adding that bringing the rescues along was important to them as they are part of the family, although it was a major expense.

Page Six reported that their 10-hour-long flight to the United Kingdom cost the Sussexes a whopping $12,000 an hour.

Although the couple spent a large amount of money to relocate their beloved dogs, they didn’t appear to do the same for their chickens, who they left behind in their Montecito home.

While the cost of the flight was substantial, it was only a part of the financial burden. The Star source claims that it was “nothing compared to the cost of adding another household to their monthly overhead.”

Despite the challenges and Meghan’s anxiety, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are preparing for an extended stay in Britain rather than a short period.

Archie and Lilibet are expected to attend school there for the foreseeable future, while the couple will expand their professional activities there while maintaining their businesses back in the U.S.

According to People Magazine, the prince will participate in a skydive for charity later this month to raise money for military charities, an extension of his continued involvement with military causes owing to his background in the army.

Meghan, on the other hand, is reportedly considering a return to acting. Earlier information suggested she was in talks to star in the third season of Guy Ritchie’s “The Gentlemen,” but those are reportedly just unfounded rumors.
