Nigerian music star Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has revealed that his biggest regret in life is that his late mother never got the opportunity to watch him perform on stage before her death.
The singer made the emotional revelation while speaking during an episode of the Brut Podcast, where he reflected on his relationship with his mother and the support she gave him throughout his career.
According to Mr Eazi, his mother was a conservative woman who did not enjoy travelling, even when the journey was relatively short.
Speaking about the experience, Mr Eazi said the one thing he wishes could have happened before his mother passed away was for her to watch him perform live.
He described it as his only regret in life, explaining that her dislike for travelling made it difficult for him to have her attend any of his shows.
“My only regret in life is that my mom never got to watch me perform on stage before she passed away,” the singer said.
Mr Eazi explained that his mother was conservative in many aspects of her life and was not comfortable with travelling.
“She was very conservative in her life in general. She didn’t like travelling, not even from Lagos to Accra,” he added.
According to the singer, his mother’s reluctance to travel meant that taking her to one of his performances was practically impossible.
Mr Eazi has performed in different parts of the world throughout his music career, but he said his mother was not the type to travel long distances to watch him perform.
Even a relatively short trip between Lagos and Accra was something she did not particularly enjoy.
As a result, the singer was unable to fulfil what would have been a deeply meaningful moment for him, having his mother watch him perform live before her passing.
