Nollywood actor Emeka Nwagbaraocha has sparked reactions online after sharing a funny and somewhat awkward encounter he recently had with police officers.
The actor narrated the experience on X, revealing that he was heading home when the vehicle he was travelling in was stopped at a police checkpoint.
According to Emeka, he had a scarf wrapped around his head at the time, apparently leaving one of the officers unsure about his gender.
The officer reportedly looked at those in the vehicle and asked, “Na man or na woman?”
The situation took an even more unexpected turn when the rider reportedly responded, “Na woman,” seemingly in an attempt to avoid further questioning and get through the checkpoint quickly.
However, Emeka immediately intervened to correct the misunderstanding.
The actor said he responded, “I’m a man, please,” making it clear that the officer had mistaken his appearance.
Sharing the incident on X, Emeka wrote:
“In the ride home today the policeman stopped us and asked ‘Na man or na woman?’ I was tying a scarf 😪 Also the foolish Rider answered ‘Na woman’. In order for them to let us go quickly. I immediately responded ‘I’m a man please’ 🙂↕️”
The post attracted reactions from social media users, with many amused by the unexpected exchange between the actor, the rider and the police officer.
While the encounter appeared embarrassing at the moment, Emeka seemed to look back on it with humour. However, his reaction also showed that he was certainly not impressed by the rider’s decision to describe him as a woman simply to get past the checkpoint.
Emeka Nwagbaraocha continues to gain recognition within the Nigerian entertainment industry through his appearances in Nollywood productions. This latest incident, however, showed fans a lighter side of the actor away from the movie set.
