Ovia South West Chairman Osarobo Begins Familiarisation Tour Of Traditional Rulers, Communities
The executive chairman of Ovia South West Local Government Council, Hon. Anthony Osarobo, has commenced a familiarisation tour of traditional rulers and communities across the council area as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots development.
Osarobo, accompanied by members of his executive council, began the tour with a visit to the palace of the Iyase of Udo, Chief Patrick Igbinidu.
The council chairman described the visit to Udo as a “thank-you visit,” saying he considered it important to return to his home community to appreciate the people following his assumption of office.
He also sought the prayers, support and cooperation of the traditional institution and residents to enable his administration succeed.
Responding, Igbinidu welcomed the chairman and urged him to ensure that development programmes were extended to all parts of the council.
The traditional ruler also prayed for Osarobo and wished him a successful tenure.
The entourage later proceeded to Iguobazuwa, the council headquarters, where the chairman was received by the Odionwere and elders of the community.
Osarobo said the visit was aimed at formally introducing his administration to the community and soliciting its support and prayers.
The Odionwere of Iguobazuwa, Mr Igbinovia Edward, congratulated Osarobo on his assumption of office and prayed for a successful tenure.
At Usen, the chairman was received by residents before proceeding to the palace of the traditional ruler, His Royal Highness, Oba Olougbe II.
Osarobo said the visit was part of efforts to strengthen relations with traditional institutions and appreciate their support for his administration.
The monarch commended the initiative and offered royal blessings for a successful tenure.
The familiarisation tour is expected to strengthen cooperation between the council, traditional institutions and communities in advancing grassroots development across Ovia South West.
