“Peter Obi Made You Relevant”- Isaac Fayose Tackles Datti Baba-Ahmed

- Isaac Fayose criticizes Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed for recent comments about Peter Obi.
- Fayose claims Datti is politically irrelevant and bitter about not being chosen as Obi’s running mate for the 2027 election.
- The criticism was shared in a video on social media.
Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has launched a fresh attack on former Labour Party vice-presidential candidate Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed following his recent comments about Peter Obi.
Fayose, in a video shared on social media, dismissed Datti’s political relevance and accused him of being bitter over Obi’s decision not to retain him as his running mate ahead of the 2027 general election.
The criticism followed Datti’s recent remarks in which he stated that none of the politicians challenging President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, including his former running mate Peter Obi, could improve Nigeria.
Reacting to the statement, Fayose questioned Datti’s political influence and argued that his prominence largely came after Obi selected him as his running mate for the 2023 presidential election.
“Ahmed Datti is a failure. Nobody knew him before 2022 until Peter Obi picked him. He even lost his own state during the election,” Fayose said.
He further suggested that Obi may have made a wrong choice by selecting Datti as his running mate in 2023, insisting that the former senator had not demonstrated sufficient political strength.
Fayose also claimed that Datti’s recent criticism of Obi was connected to the former Anambra State governor’s political realignment ahead of the 2027 election.
According to him, Datti may be unhappy that Obi has moved in a different political direction and is no longer considering him for the vice-presidential slot.
Fayose also compared Datti with Rabiu Kwankwaso, suggesting that the former Kano State governor has greater political influence in northern Nigeria.
The latest exchange comes amid increasing disagreements among opposition politicians as political parties and major figures position themselves ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
