Soldiers fighting under Operation Fansan Yamma rescued seven people who had been kidn@pped in Katsina State and recovered a large number of cattle that had been stolen in Sokoto State.
The first rescue happened on the road between Daye and Malumfashi in Danmusa area of Katsina State.
On the evening of September 21st, soldiers got a call that armed men had att@cked a bus carrying people from Kaduna to Katsina.
The soldiers came quickly and forced the att@ckers to run away and leave the people they had taken.
Seven people were rescued safely.
Six of them were female students from the Federal University in Dutsin-Ma, and one was a male bus driver. None of them were hurt.
The soldiers checked them to make sure they were safe, gave them medical care, and then gave them back to their families and the school.
In Sokoto State, the same soldiers stopped another att@ck and recovered many cattle that t£rrorists had stolen from people living in the area.
The soldiers heard that armed t£rrorists had gone into a community called Asarara Kaura in Kebbe Local Government Area.
The t£rrorists were terrorizing the people and stealing their animals.
The soldiers quickly moved to stop the t£rrorists from escaping with the cattle.
As the t£rrorists ran away, the soldiers caught them on the road between Tambuwal, Gadaichi and Gummi.
The t£rrorists started shooting at the soldiers when they saw them coming.
A gun battle happened between the two sides.
The soldiers fought back with better weapons and smarter tactics.
The t£rrorists ran away into the bushes.
Some of them were likely hit by bullets.
They left all the cattle behind.
The people living in Asarara Kaura and nearby communities were very happy about what the soldiers did.
Many people came out to clap and praise the soldiers for protecting them and their animals.
The recovered cattle are now being kept safely by the military while they figure out how to return them to the people they belong to.
