US President Donald Trump welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping to Washington on Thursday, September 24, for high-level talks aimed at easing tensions between the world’s two largest economies, with trade expected to be one of the central issues on the agenda.
Xi’s visit marks his first trip to Washington in more than a decade and comes as the United States and China attempt to stabilize relations following years of disputes over tariffs, technology, trade and national security.
