U-20 WWC: Falconets get Akekoromowei boost for China clash

Benfica striker Janet Akekoromowei has joined the Falconets ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup clash against China, DAILY POST reports.
Akekoromowei missed Nigeria’s opening fixture against Spain following Benfica’s refusal to release her in time for the competition.
The 18-year-old trained with her teammates on Wednesday after arriving from Portugal.
The striker is expected to lead Moses Aduku’s side’s attack against the Chinese.
Nigeria will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing 2-0 defeat to Spain in their opening fixture.
China, meanwhile, enjoyed a perfect start, thrashing tournament debutants New Caledonia 5-0.
Tonight’s encounter is scheduled to take place at the Arena Sosnowiec and will kick off at 5pm Nigerian time.
