A United States lawmaker has expressed alarm over att@cks and kidn@ppings in Nigeria, calling for urgent action to stop the violence.
Anna Paulina Luna posted on social media tagging the U.S. Secretary of State and National Security Adviser, saying the situation in Nigeria requires immediate intervention.
She alleged that armed groups have att@cked Christian communities in Plateau State, leaving civilians in serious danger while security forces struggle to contain the violence.
Luna cited specific incidents, including the shooting d£ath of a pastor and his church secretary on their way to service.
She said five Christians were ambushed in their vehicle, a civilian guard was k!lled outside his home and a man and his son were beaten and left critically injured.
She also referenced the reported abduction of over 100 people from Maburya in Niger State on September 13.
The victims remain missing.
Suspected b@ndits invaded the community and took residents away after releasing elderly people, pregnant women and nursing mothers.
Niger State police confirmed the incident, saying security teams have been deployed to the area and rescue efforts are ongoing.
Luna claimed that warnings about the att@cks had been issued by an organisation prior to the violence.
