Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has reacted to the reported disagreement involving former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and some governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Kalu expressed surprise over the development, saying political disagreements should not take priority at a time when Nigerians are dealing with economic challenges.
According to the senator, the focus of political leaders should be on reducing the hardship faced by citizens and finding practical ways to move the country forward.
“I’m surprised that Wike is f!ghting with APC governors. It’s not necessary. What is necessary today is to ameliorate the suffering of Nigerians and move the country forward. We should go back to production and stabilise our electricity.”
Kalu also stressed the importance of returning the country to a productive economy, while identifying stable electricity supply as one of the key areas that requires attention.
His comments come amid ongoing political developments and disagreements among political actors, with the senator urging leaders to prioritise issues that directly affect the welfare and economic wellbeing of Nigerians.
