Big Brother Naija Season 6 winner, Hazel Oyeze Onou, popularly known as Whitemoney, has publicly clarified his sexual orientation after receiving romantic advances from a male admirer in his direct messages.
The reality TV star shared video footage on social media showing screenshots of flirty messages from a male user who called him “aggressively handsome” and “papi.”
Expressing irritation over the messages, Whitemoney stated that his decision to keep his romantic life private should not be misinterpreted.
“Because you don’t see me with ladies doesn’t mean I’m gay,” Whitemoney said, adding that he strictly prefers women and chooses to keep his personal relationships away from the public eye.
Following reactions to his video, the entertainer issued a follow-up statement to address online backlash and clarify his comments, emphasizing that his response was about setting personal boundaries rather than expressing hatred toward anyone.
“I am a straight African man,” he stated. “I am not homophobic, but I am a straight man and I love women.”
Whitemoney, who recently expressed a desire to settle down and find a wife, warned admirers against sending romantic advances to his direct messages, stating that he would publicly expose the identity of anyone who does so in the future.
