Wike fires back at Kwara Gov: ‘It’s always Wike

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has criticised Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, accusing him of blaming him for virtually anything that happens around him.
Wike made the remarks during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Tuesday while responding to criticism from some All Progressives Congress (APC) governors over the support of the Rainbow Coalition for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The former Rivers State governor alleged that Abdulrazaq frequently attributes unrelated incidents to him, saying the Kwara governor would blame him whenever he encounters a snake or any other reptile.
“The governor of Kwara, so unfortunate, anytime he sees a snake, it’s him. Anytime he sees a reptile, it’s him. Any day he doesn’t eat, it’s Wike,” he said.
Wike also accused Abdulrazaq of devoting more attention to gossip and political commentary than to the responsibilities attached to his office.

“I’ve never seen people who will give time to gossip more than the work they have been given,” he added.
The FCT minister further questioned the Kwara governor’s handling of political relationships in the state, alleging that Abdulrazaq had replaced several elected lawmakers who were previously serving under the APC.
“He has three serving senators; he changed all of them. He has House of Representatives members; he changed all of them. Now, if you are a good politician, you’ll see it doesn’t look good,” Wike said.
His comments came amid political disagreements within the APC and broader discussions over support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
