19 abducted prospective corps members released — Olubadan

The prospective members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who were abducted while travelling to their orientation camps in Imo State have been released.

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, received confirmation of their release from the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, during a telephone conversation at about 5pm on Wednesday.

A statement released by Olubadan’s media aide, Adeola Oloko, stated that Governor Uzodinma personally conveyed the development to the Olubadan, bringing relief to the families and loved ones of the prospective corps members who had been anxiously awaiting the news of their safety.

The Olubadan, who had been closely monitoring developments concerning the abducted prospective corps members, expressed relief at the confirmation of their release.
