Social commentator Isaac Fayose has criticised Igbo people supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu, accusing them of failing to support Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Fayose made the comments in a video circulating on social media, where he expressed his support for Obi and questioned why some wealthy Igbo individuals have not backed the former Anambra State governor.

According to him, Obi is the most prominent Igbo politician of the past three to four decades apart from the late Biafran leader, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.

“Any Igbo man wey dey supports this government is a wicked Igbo man, no Igbo man don great past Peter Obi apart from Ojukwu in the last 30-40 years,” Fayose said.

“Any Igbo man wey no supports Obi na witch, na wicked Igbo man, na jealous Igbo man,” Fayose stated.

Fayose also expressed confidence in Obi’s chances in the 2027 election, saying the former governor would win regardless of the level of financial backing he receives from wealthy supporters.

“With or without you, Obi will win. With or without your money, Peter Obi will win,” he said.

He added that Obi “will be declared the winner come January.”

Fayose also referenced the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu and claimed Obi had faced restrictions while attempting to campaign, using the issues to question the political choices of Igbo supporters of the APC.

“You no get shame, Nnamdi dey jail. Peter Obi dey no allow am to campaign. You say you are an Igbo man, you are this, you are a selfish man,” he said.
