Dangote Foundation Offers Nigerian Students 10 Free Refinery Shares Under New Investment Scheme

…Beneficiaries Must First Purchase 10 Shares Through Designated Platform
The Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) has unveiled a Student Share Grant Initiative, offering eligible Nigerian tertiary institution students an opportunity to receive 10 additional shares in Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE (DPRP) at no extra cost after purchasing an initial 10 shares.
The initiative, designed to promote financial literacy, early investment culture and long-term wealth creation among young Nigerians, is open to students aged 18 and above in recognised public and private tertiary institutions across the country.
Under the programme, eligible students who successfully complete the required verification process and subscribe to a minimum of 10 DPRP shares through the Foundation’s designated portal, ipo.alikodangotefoundation.org, will qualify for an additional application for 10 shares funded by the Foundation.
The initiative is part of ADF’s broader commitment to empowering young Nigerians through education, economic inclusion and practical financial knowledge.
By providing students with an opportunity to participate directly in the capital market, the Foundation said it hopes to nurture a generation of financially informed young people with a better understanding of savings, investment and asset ownership.
Speaking on the programme, Chairman of the Aliko Dangote Foundation, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, said empowering young people should go beyond providing access to education to equipping them with the knowledge and opportunities to participate in economic growth.
“Supporting young people goes beyond providing access to education. It must also involve equipping them with the knowledge and opportunities to participate in economic growth and wealth creation,” Dangote said.
He explained that the initiative was designed to introduce students to responsible investing and the benefits of long-term ownership.
According to him, early exposure to investment opportunities could help young Nigerians develop better financial habits, make informed decisions and contribute more actively to the formal economy.
Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Mrs. Zouera Youssoufou, said the programme was designed to bridge the gap between financial education and practical investment experience.
She noted that participating students would gain first-hand exposure to the investment process, including verification, subscription, allotment and share ownership.
Youssoufou added that the Foundation’s objective extended beyond participation in a single public offering, stressing that it hopes to inspire a lifelong interest in financial literacy, investment and asset ownership among young Nigerians.
To participate, eligible students aged 18 and above must visit ipo.alikodangotefoundation.org to complete the verification process.
Following successful verification, applicants will be directed to the designated subscription platform to purchase a minimum of 10 DPRP shares in their own names and for their personal benefit.
Students who successfully complete the process will qualify for the Foundation to fund an additional application for 10 shares.
The Foundation clarified that the offer is exclusively available to eligible students participating through its designated platform. It cannot be transferred or used to purchase shares on behalf of another person or acquire shares in another Dangote company or any other organisation.
ADF further stressed that the Student Share Grant Initiative is an independent Foundation programme intended to promote financial literacy and investment participation.
It emphasised that participation is voluntary and should not be interpreted as investment advice or an endorsement of DPRP shares.
Prospective applicants were advised to carefully review the relevant IPO documents and independently assess the investment before making a decision.
