A Nigerian mother has recounted the frightening experience her family went through after her one-year-old daughter swallowed a 2-inch carpenter nail two years ago.

The mother, who shared the story on Facebook, said an X-ray initially showed the nail lodged inside her daughter in a dangerous position, leaving her terrified about the situation.

According to her, doctors prepared the child for surgery, but the procedure was postponed after the anaesthesia team said they were not ready.

She said a subsequent X-ray showed that the nail had changed position and was no longer positioned in the same dangerous way as in the first scan.

“The first miracle was when the doctor postponed the surgery to the next morning after we have prepared for the surgery and bought, paid for everything because the anesthesia team said they were not prepared as they didn’t have some things they mentioned,” she wrote.

The mother described the development as an answer to prayer and said her daughter eventually recovered without undergoing the surgery.

“Today my Daughter is Healthy and hearty, basking in the Euphoria of God’s Glory, without any long scare on her,” she added.

She also revealed that the child had previously been delivered through an emergency Caesarean section after complications from placenta previa during pregnancy.

The mother concluded by celebrating her daughter’s survival and encouraging others to join her in marking what she described as the child’s victory.
