Lawyer Seeks Transfer of Jordan Wike’s $2.1m Suit, Queries EFCC Over Fraud Petition

Ibrahim Wuru, counsel to Safwan Garba and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, has asked the Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court to transfer a $2.1 million land deal suit involving Jordan Wike, son of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, citing concerns over possible bias.
The lawyer is seeking the transfer of the case to another court, raising concerns about the handling of the dispute.
In a separate development, Wuru has urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to provide an update on a petition alleging fraud against Jordan Wike.
According to the lawyer, nearly eight months after the petition was submitted, there had been no meaningful update on the status of the investigation.
The developments bring renewed attention to the $2.1 million land transaction dispute and the call for the anti-graft agency to clarify the progress of its investigation.
The allegations remain subject to investigation and judicial determination. The request for a transfer of the suit does not, by itself, establish judicial bias or wrongdoing by any party.
