Oshodi-Isolo LG Debunks Alleged Rift Between Kendoo, Obasa, Condemns Threats of Violence

The Oshodi-Isolo Local Government has dismissed a viral social media video alleging a rift between its Executive Chairman, Otunba Kehinde Adeola Al-Maroof-Oloyede, popularly known as Kendoo, and the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.

The council described the video as false and mischievous, accusing those behind it of attempting to create discord between the two political leaders and incite violence under the guise of political loyalty.

In a statement issued by the Media Office of the Executive Chairman, the local government said Kendoo holds Obasa in high regard and maintains profound respect for both his person and the office he occupies.

It stressed that there was no disagreement between the two leaders, dismissing claims suggesting otherwise as a deliberate attempt to manufacture a political crisis where none exists.

The council also reaffirmed its commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging support for the party’s activities and candidates across Lagos State.

According to the statement, the local government is prepared to support APC aspirants and candidates at all levels, including Obasa’s reported aspiration to the Federal House of Representatives in Agege, as well as other party candidates contesting legislative positions in the area and across the state.

It added that the people of Agege, like residents of other communities in Lagos, deserve the support and cooperation of party members working towards the APC’s success.

The council condemned what it described as attempts to incite violence, warning that political loyalty should not be used as an excuse to threaten public peace or mobilise thugs.

It maintained that Lagos State’s stability depends on peace, order and mutual respect, insisting that political disagreements should be resolved through dialogue and the party’s internal mechanisms rather than threats or violence.

Addressing those allegedly behind the video, including individuals reportedly loyal to the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) leader, Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, the council said anyone dissatisfied with the APC was free to leave the party but should not remain a member while allegedly working to undermine its unity and leadership.

The local government also called on security agencies to investigate the video, identify those responsible and take appropriate action to safeguard public peace.

It urged APC members, transport workers and residents of Oshodi-Isolo to remain calm, disregard what it described as divisive propaganda, and conduct themselves lawfully.

Reiterating its position, the council insisted that there was no rift between Kendoo and Obasa, adding that their relationship was built on mutual respect.

The statement concluded that the administration remained focused on delivering good governance, promoting peace and unity, and advancing the interests of the APC across Lagos State.
