The state chairman in a statement on Thursday described the award as an honour to them the union, teachers and the good people of Kebbi state as his nomination proved that his governance style has been noticed beyond the shores of Kebbi state and beyond.
” To NUT Kebbi state, the award is beyond mere ceremony but an honour to all teachers and good people of Kebbi state, on behalf of myself and the entire leadership of NUT Kebbi state wing we celebrate our own,a stunch unionists who rose from a classroom teacher to a governor”.

The statement added that the governor of the year award will spur the governor to add to what he is already doing in education, teachers welfare and other sectors in Kebbi state.
